Midge Lucas

Midge Lucas was born and educated in England. He studied woven textile design at the University of Derby and then went on to study at the Royal College of Art, where he received a Masters of Arts Degree creating original art pieces that combined woven patterns with tapestry techniques. He worked as a freelance textile designer, lecturer, muralist, and exhibited in several group art shows.

After moving to the U. S. he painted murals and created faux finishes for over six years at Andrew Tedesco Studios before becoming a member United Scenic Artists Locals USA 829 in 2003. He has painted for motion pictures and television but mainly theater, painting and sculpting on numerous Broadway shows at Hudson Scenic Studios.

 

His artwork is in many private residences both in the U.S. and the U.K. as well as public spaces. He now lives and works in New York City.
